Well it’s coming down to crunch time here in our home. It’s been pretty lack around here as far as our Home goes. We decided this year to not partake in any renos in the Month of December and its been a nice break. There’s been more time to spend with good friends and family, reading a book, and taking the occasional nap. Basic Down time.
I’ve been finishing up some custom work for a client, working with a young family to turn their main living room into something more useable, and entertaining friendly, and the next chapter in the new year working on getting a bedroom design in full motion.
I could not end the week before Christmas without giving you a little sneak peek of some of the decor around our home. I’ve kept things super simple this year, not too much fuss.
Remember I wrote a post about doing twigs in my kitchen in this post? Well, I decided to move them outdoors as the vessel I wanted to put them in was filled up with Hosta plants. I really didn’t want to purchase a vessel for just this year, so this outdoor pot will have to do. I made some mini ones for a Womens event as center pieces, and that went off without a hitch. It was a fun project, and all the women got to take them home.
If you want to try a mini version for your holiday table these are the basic supplies you will need. Are you ready for the long list?
1. Dogwood twigs, or any twigs really. Beg, borrow or steal them. Okay, maybe don’t steal them!
2. Foam styrofoam balls. They come in all sizes, and most dollar stores sell them.
3. A skewer stick. I used this to poke a small hole so I could add them to my branches easily.
4. Mini ornaments. Any colour you wish. You can mix the colours, textures. Another idea is to add mini bells, small gift boxes, your options are really endless.
After all it’s your creation to make it as you like!
Thanks for stoppping by. I’ll be posting one more time before Chirstmas so hang in there everyone as there are only 6 more sleeps till Christmas! The day we celebrate the birth of Jesus, eat great food, and spend time with some family and friends.
