I have so appreciated all the comments and encouragement from all of you over this last month in the launching of this blog. One of the comments I keep on getting is ” You have shown us your little girls room, but where’s the boy’s room?”. Ahh, yes of course! So you know, our little guy does have his own room and a great room it is.
His room gets a lot of natural light everyday thanks to the wonderful large window in this space, it has a huge closet, and lots of floor space to play when friends and cousins come over. The storage for this Truck/Car/Train/Construction truck loving Young man really needs to be addressed. I really want to create a great desk/storage area in his closet to house all the many cars, and trucks this little guy has. To accomplish that, it would require a little bit more time and money to do it properly. So for the moment we’ve decided to put this process on hold.
With his room not completely done, this is the reason I haven’t posted any photos of his room on my gallery shots. For now, he really enjoys his room and I really don’t think he has noticed that all his storage needs aren’t being met and his walls are missing some type of treatment. After all, my ideas of what I would like for his space and what he needs for this space are two totally different things.
- He Needs:
- a bed √
- floor space to play √
- a place for his clothes and toys √
His basic needs are met, but in my world practicality loves beauty as well. All in do time though…
For those of you that are curious, I thought that I would at the very least show you some of the cute details in his room. These details may very well get changed when it’s finally done, but at least it gives you something to look at for now. Enjoy!
This is an antique train given to my son by his Aunt and Uncle for Christmas one year. He truly loves it!
These little chairs I found at a thrift store and I painted them green and blue to match the color scheme in his room. They act as little shelves to hold any delicate toys like this Yellow loader that his Grandpa gave him. When the loader is not in use, this is its sleeping spot.
We built these shelves for our Daughter before she was born and since then the kids have switched rooms. We kept these shelves up for him and we store various items on them. The Oscar the grouch and Grover were my husbands when he was little boy. They were very special to him then. Our little boy loves his ball caps, loves any transportation, and the blue lantern simply looks good hanging there.
There are many other details to show you one day when it all finished! I am so looking forward to giving him the storage he needs for his transportation addiction. For now, the details of his room will have to do.
Do you have any rooms that aren’t finished off like you would wish for them to be? Do share.
