Yesterday I shared a little sneak peek into the vision I have for our Kitchen re-design that has been on-going for several months now. It’s only 50% finished, but I still love its refreshed and calm feeling. I know that I talk about it a lot, but I can’t deal with a kitchen that has chaos, especially mine. Now that’s me being honest. I believe in Honestly.
One of the Hardest obstacles in creating a White Kitchen is pulling it together in a cohesive way. Well what do I mean by that? You might be saying to me… Jodi, how hard can it be? Just pick a white paint colour, slap it on and you’re good to go!
I wrote this article {5 steps to a great kitchen} about 6 months ago and it you read it or are just about to go and read it then you know that there are so many things that I think about when I pull a space together. This goes for really any space for that matter.
So this brings me back to picking a white to go on the walls, and how is that colour showing in my kitchen? If you are trying to pick a white for your kitchen, how is that colour showing on your walls? These are some of the questions to ask yourself when picking a colour on your own in your home.
My kitchen is no different. When we started renovating our home to make it work better for our family almost 9 years ago, we were like most families today.
Renovations are time-consuming {especially if you do all the work like ourselves}
and
They can add up really fast $ Wise.
But I will say that it’s worth every penny and worth all the hard work because even though we aren’t finished in our home, we can honestly say that we utterly love the Home that has been given to us!
I will not stop till the whole process is just right for our family and you shouldn’t either for yours. Come back next time and I’ll share just what obstacles that I have had to hurdle to get through (and still have to hurdle over). I’m 5′ 2″ so that’s a lot of hurdling! Sorry, I had to add that in.
Till next time,
Jodi

colour as much as it has a huge impact also has daunting results if not chosen well!
easy & quick to change…well not for me!
Getting it right is a toughie & I applaud your honesty!
Sometimes as designers it is harder to work our own space out!
Looking forward to seeing it all!

You stay on your quest for a white kitchen. I am a full supporter on this as my favorite color is white. Once the foundation is set, it just gets easier. Oh the possibilities you have with accessories!!!

Oh Tracey I never ever planned on bailing out on the whole scheme, and you’re right the colour that will be present afterwards!

I do love a white kitchen, but picking the right white isn’t easy. Hope it will all be over soon and you can live happily ever after! Can’t wait to see it!
