Hi everyone, and Happy Wednesday to you all. This past weekend has been interesting and busy all in one sentence if you get my drift.
Last weekend we got away for a exciting one night backpacking trip with our kids as well as my brother and his family. The day and night while we were gone were filled with crossing rock boulders, walking on large trees over rushing rivers, layers of clothes to keep warm, smokies, and barrels of laughter and fun. This is the third year we have gone with our children since they can walk themselves. It has been both lots of work, but so rewarding for them in building memories, as well as discipline, team work, listening skills for safety, but most of all they love the back country as much as we do and that rocks!
Here’s some of the photos from our trip.
It was good to come home to our house, and settle back in for an afternooon only to do up more laundry to make the trek out to my parents home which is up for sale in the Shuswap, B.C. My parents have been building homes and selling them for as long as I can remember. I believe they built their first home in 1997 when they first moved to B.C. We arrived on Sunday night and I got straight to work getting it ready for Darryl to photograph the next day. The day was long, and rewarding and in the end they were so grateful to have us there to provide them with amazing photos to give their home the push it needs to sell. I’ll tell you more about their home another day, but I will tell you a few things. My Mom and Dad have worked soooo hard on this house, all their sweat and love into really shows. This home sits on the mountain side looking staight onto the Shuswap lake here in beautiful B.C so the view is OUTSTANDING!
I’ll show you some photos of their space later, but for now that’s what we are up to.

Sunday morning I woke up to a big surprise that Centsational Girl featured the room I designed for my Niece on her site! I am honored, and thrilled to be a part of her site. So a big thanks to Kate for the feature! If you are not aware of her site please do check it out. She is one super talented, Blogger, DIYer, and overall great lady who is passionate about design. So Please do check out her site as it is filled with so much info. Here is the post where my room was featured. Again many thanks to Kate! This week we are staying at Darryl’s parents house so the kiddos can have some Grandpa and Grandma time, and we may get up to a friends cabin with out the kids one of these days too.

Sounds wonderful Jodi. My question to you is, what would be your top 3 hikes in BC? Could be for individuals, couples or family.
Jodi says
Geoffrey Lakes is at the top, Elfin Lakes, and Wedgemount Lake. Have you done any of these?

You are brave! Looks like fun. We have yet to do that with our kids!

This was our fourth year (with one off in between just before our son was born). Getting them used to it early, I guess.
