Christmas came early at our house when Maryanne from Stimuli Magazine asked me if I would participate in the Holiday Door feature for the latest winter issue of Stimuli Magazine. You can see the online version here. Here’s just a small snippet from the article.
What do you get when you ask five design entrepreneurs and bloggers to style the front entrance of their homes for the holidays? A wonderfully diverse illustration of the spirit of the season. From a rustic lodge theme complete with antlers and ski poles to the beautifully bright colours of a candy cane, each style is unique and easier to achieve that you may imagine.

Once again I had the chance to work with my Favourite Guy Darryl aka (my hubby, father of my children, and partner in crime in this crazy life we lead) DB Visuals.
A Big Shout out to the Home Sense Langley Location for generously allowing me to use all Home Sense Products for The latest issue of Stimuli Magazine. If you need Holiday decor, the store is bursting with alot of different styles, items and beautiful pieces to add to your holiday decor.
As much as I had a lot of fun, this was no easy task! I could have gone a few different directions with the look, but the jumping off piece was this beautiful rug I found at HomeSense. I’m a sucker for bright colours paired with crisp whites, creams, silvers and golds. Please keep in mind, if you want to duplicate this look in any way feel free to swap out the colours for things you love, add a side table, and you can create your very own look.
The twig tree on the left of the door lights up, and the two presents under the tree light up (battery-operated) and this created a nice addition to the door. I added a marble topped iron side table, that hosted a vignette of holiday ornaments, a manger with baby Jesus, and a real-life looking pine tree. A basket was essential for the newspapers that seem to pile up, chestnuts in a beautiful marble inspired container, and some gifts and greenery to pull it together.
Create something that you love, using the colours you love, for your home!
Take care, and happy decorating!
