Happy Easter Everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day spent with your families, enjoy some time outside in this beautiful world we have been Given!
Today’s Simply Inspired Note:
Challenge your self this week to BRING Intentionality into your Home. Take one room each day, and make a decision. “What item could I do without, do not need, do not love, or have too many of…” Give this item away to someone who you know could use it, sell it, or perhaps donate it to your local Thrift store or Charity.
This week the kids and I went through their play room, and yes the kids are sharing a room together now! I’ll share more on that another day. I had them go through their toys and decide what they really loved. The items that they didn’t need either have gone to family, another friend, or they are going to sell the items on craigslist. This is a great age for my kids to start realizing that everything that we have is a gift, and just because we have room for all of it, doesn’t mean that we need to keep it. There are still more toys to go through, a little bit at a time.
Oh, just so you know, I went through my play room too! 🙂
Have a great week everyone!
Jodi

It’s a great feeling to get rid of things you don’t need and a good feeling to donate. Now your kids can recognize that goodness and look forward to cleaning next time. Happy Easter Jodi!

Being one that loves beautiful things, I have purchased yards and yards of beautiful material in the past. I have a big ‘ol drawer full of them. I love them, but I know I will never take the time to do anything with them.. My aunt, on the other hand loves to quilt. I put them all in a bag for her when she last visited, but they forgot them. They are still in the bag ready to go, but every day that passes I think long and hard about putting them back in the drawer. I wont, though. 🙂 Thank you for a little inspiration to keep it simple and best of all, to give.

Thanks Jenn, hold tight to your idea of giving it away. I know it’s hard to give up something that we love, but we know it really isn’t something that we love. Good Luck!

You’ve made such a great differentiation in keeping because you have the space vs. keeping because you have the need. What a great perspective, Jodi! And it feels so freeing and uplifting to lighten up on all the superfluous ‘stuff’. Great post 🙂
