I’ve just finished reading/skimming this great new book introduced to me. Such a great read, hilarious at moments, found myself truly seeing a lot of myself through the words of this author. I hesitated to introduce this book on my design site, but I felt a nudge.
Please feel free to check out the great video on this link as well.
After thinking about how it is my quest to create beautiful spaces for people, real intentional spaces, and above all share my voice when it comes to being very intentional in our home. This book describes all areas of my life where I fall short all the time. Being intentional not only is for my home, but for my mind, my Money, how I spend my time, food, and my faith in God.
“7 : An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess” – 7 is the true story of how Jen took seven months, identified seven areas of excess, and made seven simple choices to fight back against the modern-day diseases of greed, materialism, and overindulgence.
The last few years I have craved less. I do want to live a life of goodness, enjoying quality things, work a little less, making moments to just sit. This is something that I am working on. I’ve finished it, Darryl has been reading it and I am on fire to make some more changes in our lives where I feel we have fallen short of. I’ve got a long way to go.
You’ll be seeing this book on my site again, by for today I really wanted to introduce it to you for those interested. I would love to hear your thoughts as I dig deeper into this book.

Hi, Jodi! I just saw this blog and wanted to comment as I too have recently read Jen’s book. God has used it to impact my thinking dramatically and slowly, my actions. It’s been three months since I finished it and I still think about some principle of it every day. It’s such tough stuff, but my heart keeps coming back to it as truth. I pray that I continue to open my heart God’s perfect will in these areas in my life…and whatever that perfect will might call me to, no matter how uncomfortable. This is my prayer for you too. 🙂 God will show us as we keep our focus on Him!
I look forward to more of your thoughts on this book!
