Shortbread. It’s one of the most popular cookies of the holiday season. I came across this shortbread mix a few weeks ago as I staggered through the isles one night. I remember feeling very tired and weary, so I guess the idea of not having to mix up my own sounded like the best idea. I probably could have been talked into canned Turkey that night instead of Baking my own for Christmas dinner. Now that’s just craziness, I say to myself, I wasn’t that tired… The Shortbread mix came home with me for $3. I was eager to try it out.
My little guy helped me mix it up and we put the dough into a 8X8 baking pan. He got his cute little fingers in there and patted it all down for me. He really enjoyed that. Like a good baker, he happily licked his fingers as he patted. Got to keep your fingers moist so they don’t stick to the dough right? I think these bars will be served to only our family.
We popped them into the oven and we waited till they were ever so slightly brown around the edges. They smelled very good in the oven and I was very tempted to eat them straight out of the pan. I resisted. I cut them up a few days later and this is how they turned out.
Did I think they were worth bringing home? Honestly, I wish I would have made my own. I thought they were okay and I’ll leave it at that. I rate these 6/10. If it’s okay with all of you, I declare that I actually found a PC Product that didn’t make the grade in my books. Some day pigs may fly too!

Hi, this mix is from several years ago so I’m not sure if it still an item the is stock in a PC/Loblaws based store.
I buy this cookie mix every year. Saves me time and I think the cookies taste great. My local Fortino’s store has not been selling it this year. I hope they haven’t stopped making it. Could anyone tell me if it’s still available. Haven’t seen it anywhere. Could I buy it online?

Since is a President’s Choice Product, it is likely available at other stores in the Loblaw family (which there are MANY). Hopefully it is still sold in one or more of them.
