Getting ready for spring/summer in my home has always been one of my favorite times of the year. Out with all the clutter that has lagged over since Christmas, and into a new season of freshness and an overall sense of renew. I love the feeling when I get a chance to clean up and take my home from feeling the winter blues to Hello spring time!
- Open up the windows. When the first days of warmth hit us I like to take the opportunity to take advantage of all fresh air that is right outside our windows. I like to open each window every morning and let the glorious air refresh all those stinky nighttime smells. We can’t be the only ones with this? There is no cleaner smell then fresh air. One of my jobs growing up was hanging up the laundry on the closeline. When we brought in the clothes afterwards the clothes had that amazing fresh air smell. Mmmmm…
- Purge, Purge, Purge… I cannot stress enough how much I cannot stand excess stuff. Our garage at the present moment is the dump all for anything that we are selling on craigslist, stuff to give away, etc. Just when I clean it up and give it a good hosing off, it seems that I’m back to having more clutter in than I would like. This is life…. So I’m taking each day to make sure it stays under control, although I’m not sure who’s in control the garage or me?
- A word on Closets. I like to take my time (when I have some…) and make a good effort of going through every closet in our house. There seems to be this thing that happens time after time. Things get collected our closets that shouldn’t even be in our house. You know how it goes… When we can’t find a suitable place or home for an item, where does it end up in? THE CLOSET!!! Arghhhh… this drives me crazy!!! The funny thing is that I am so guilty of it. I’ve managed to go through all our closets, and start to PURGE. The only one left is my daughters. That should be a doozey!!! I’m not looking forward to and it and neither is she.
- Every year we use one of these bad boys….. You know for all the grime, slime and anything else that should not be in our yard.
