Wow! What a wonderful Christmas we had. I hope your Christmas was just as great. I’m sorry this post finds you so late, but it’s been busy.
Just a few highlights to share with you.
Relaxing before the Christmas Eve Service
Two kids really excited to open presents….
Our little guy sure loves the Fire truck he got from Grandpa and Grandma! Can you tell?
We definitely had a relaxing Christmas, and I mean relaxing. For those of you who don’t know me very well, I really have a hard time sitting still. This Christmas, it was the perfect time to chill and enjoy my family. Which was definitely high on my list.
With another Christmas under our belt (although I don’t think I’ll be needing a belt with all the food we consumed) Funny Jodi… It seems only fitting to get started on the holiday clean up. Last year we took our tree down on Boxing day, so this year I was getting squirrely that it didn’t happen until today the 28th. With the check list in my head, we were well on our way to bring calm to our home once again. I can hear some of you secretly snickering at me. Oh, that Jodi….
1. Get the decorations down. √ I usually like to keep my Christmas decorations to a minimum of one large box. That’s all…. it keeps things sane for me. We are all different. Some folks couldn’t care less, and others need to rent a storage locker just to accommodate all their seasonal decorations. Funny huh?
2. Get rid of our little tree. √ I enjoyed having our tree up so much during the holiday’s, but its time for the Sucker to go down. It’s actually sitting on our deck still in its pot. What a wonderful thing.
3. Vacuum up all those amazing pine needles. √ Pine needles have the most amazing gift of getting into just about any crack or corner. There was a contest between us and the needles and WE WON!!
4. Recycle, Recycle, Recycle. √ There’s no greater sight to me when all I can see is the back-end of the recycling truck removing all my wrapping paper and boxes.
5. Purge, Purge, Purge. √ It brings me such joy to remove any item that I have no use for anymore. If it brings me no use, it may to someone else. Then off to good will it will go. What can I say? I am a “Type A” all the way. When things are organized and paired down I can breathe… Now, this is not to say that I can’t function with dirt around, I just like things organized. Like I said before, everyone is different and that’s what makes us all unique. I try not to fight it.
This week is going to be a little bit relaxed on the writing end of things, so please be patient with me. Mr. Holmsey and I are working on a bigger project that I will definitely show you at a later date.
How about yourself? Are you itching to get all your Christmas decorations down like me? Or, have you already done it. What’s your after Christmas traditions?

Our Christmas is all packed up and the floors are all vacumed. The pantry will be the next things to get a good clean. I’m with you….it’s great to have it all up….and it’s a great feeling to pack it all up till next year. Time to bring in the new year with more empty spaces and clean air.

Hi Meg,
Yes, it is a great feeling isn’t it? Glad I’m not the only one willing to admit it! Nice to hear from you!
