How to Make a Sophisticated Flower arrangement, Yet Simple.

If I could pick any other Dream job besides being a Mom and Designer I would choose working in a Florist shop. I am obsessed with any type of flower and I’m always looking for simple, but different way to arrange them.

For the photo shoot in our living room a few weeks back, I chose to use this white bowl I found. I love its sharp edges, but it’s simplicity. The sunlight really falls nicely on it don’t you think?

I chose White wax flowers for my arrangement, because I wanted one large mound of one type of flower. The great thing about this type of flower is that not only is it cheap, it lasts really long (2-3 weeks) and it’s simply stunning.

First Step:

Purchase a very large amount of filler wax flower from your florist. I got mine from here.

Second Step:

You can use florists green tape, I had a lot double-sided tape around so I used tape to add a grid to the top of my white vessel. This will keep the stems standing where you want them and by no means is this step necessary, but I did it to make sure my blooms stayed put.

Third step:

Start filling in the vase with your flowers of choice, cutting them to the desired length. I usually start on the outside edge and work my way in.

Fourth Step:

Keep filling with flowers till you have the desired fullness.

The Final effect I was very happy with and I will try it again with another type of flower. Carnations would work well too! As long as the flower has a sturdy stem and can hold up a bit, I don’t think there’s a wrong answer.

That’s my take on a simple, yet sophisticated flower arrangement that anyone can do at home.
