This past Saturday, Darryl and I hosted a Christmas Party with our Design & Life Style Blogger West Group. Not only is this a fantastic group of ladies plus Darryl (being the only man!), but a very generous group. We all talked about possibly doing a gift exchange, but that Idea was quickly booted out and in with the giving instead. Yeah!!
The Plan
#1 – Everyone in the group donated $10 towards Union Gospel’s Christmas Dinner. The totally tally of funds raised towards a warm meal for a homeless person this year was $170.00. That’s 51 meals total! That money will go so much further that any gifts we could have given to each other. I will call down to the Union Gospel Mission and summit a donation in our Groups name this week. Way to go everyone! I am so proud of all of you.
#2 – Everyone also brought food for our Local Food Bank, so I am honoured to be able to drop off all this food to our Local Food Bank really soon. Thank you so much to all our members who brought food and shared your generosity with people who need it most. This time of year is especially hard on certain families in our community and I think it’s one tiny way that we can give back in a small, and practical way.
