The last two projects that I have been working on have involved me designing a room around either 3/4 height or standard 32″ inch panelling to be installed by both home owners. I know that with some research, time, and patience you too could even tackle a project like these.
#1. The first one is the room that I just finished working on for my niece.
Sorry… did you really think I would show you the big reveal on the room? You are mistaken. Wow! I’ve Teased you enough with this room so I really hope you like it after I show you the after shots! The biggest thing is that I am extremely happy with the way it turned out, and so is my brother and sister – in-law. So is my little niece… remember this cutie?
In the case of #1 My brother was in charge of installing the panelling with the design that I wanted for the room. My brother has quite a bit of woodworking experience and a lot of experience of dealing with extreme details. By day he is a talented machinist, he is extremely detail orriented, so making a project work really well defenitlty comes naturally to him.
Great Job!!
Case #2 The other a room is a redesign that I have been working on for a friend to guide her through some of her design challenges. She lives in a town house, and with window placement there is a great need for light as there are only windows that face east and west. One of the elements I really wanted to put in place for her space is wall panelling. She was more that eager to do the work herself and I am SOOOOO proud of her for taking it on! The end result of her wood work created a space that truly opened up and brought in so much light, completley transforming the space as though it is larger. In my friends case, she basically had no experience dealing with woodworking, but she had the gumption to go ahead and do it when I suggested it to her! Way to go girl!! It looks fabulous!!
There are many tutorials out there in blog land, so it was so hard to choose. One of them out there that I personally loved not only because they did a beautiful job, but she also got featured on the Nate Burkus show! This panelling job was done by the Rambling Renovators! Check it out. It’s a beautie!
Another Tutorial done by The Oh so popular Thrifty Decor Chick! She always cracks me up with all that she has to say. She always tries to save some bucks along the way so I appreciate that! In the end her results are as always stunning!
Well have I convinced you?
Stay tuned this week, as I hopefully will be able to show you my little niece’s room. My new business site is in the works still so hopefully it will be up soon. Fingers crossed?

Wow Jodi,
I love the panelling… it’s one of my favorite features a house can boast. I got my brother to do some panelling in our bathroom. It’s such a simple detail that looks like a million bucks. What paint color is on the blue wall? Great blog!

Jodi, I just adore panelling and have some big plans for it in my own home. Now, I just gotta get started! I love the images you shared, and I’m excited to give it a try.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!
