Life has been really busy here at the Simply Inspired Home. I’m sorry for my lack of presence here on my site as well on yours! I know that they tell you in the blogging world to “never say sorry for not blogging…” Yeah, well the reality is that sometimes we get really busy and there’s just no real way around it.
So what have I been up to, you ask?
Well… where do I start?
1. My living room design is going well and on target time wise. On budget, thanks to the IKEA gift card Darryl won at our IDS Blend party. The room is all starting to take shape. There are many details that we are both working on so I can’t wait to show you some of them. Here’s a sneak peak at what we’ve been up to the last few weeks.
The Fireplace design is all finished as of last weekend, and I just need to paint it and install some tile on it yet. Not sure when I am going to find time to get to the tile shop though? It’s been a messy job, but someone has to do it right?
With the Fireplace millwork completed, we have been tackling the custom shelving that we worked on this past weekend. Most of our books are stored downstairs in our Home Office and we would like to get the majority upstairs where we can actually see them and read them… Funny, what a concept. Read the books you own? Hmmmm…
I’ll show you a sneak peak sometime soon when I get a chance to take some more photos.
All of my furniture has sold on Craigslist and I am super stoked! I just sold my dark club chairs and I have purchased 2 new smaller arm chairs to replace them. This past weekend I took advantage of a Halloween special on an order I placed for my pillows at Milk and Cookies etsy shop and they should arrive hopefully next week. They are a Canadian Site!!! I have so many extra (and not used) pillows around my house, so it makes it easy to purchase pillow slips that are custom sewed on Etsy for so cheap. The average price is $20. a pillow that I ordered and I couldn’t be happier. I heart Pillows….
I did order this one…
and a few others. You’ll just have to wait and find out which other ones as well.
2. For the last Month or so I’ve had the privelege of sharing my passion for Design with some ladies every Friday. This group is called REFRESH and it was started by my church as a Friday Morning out for Mom’s. I have been teaching on how to hang a wall galleries, I’ve had The Passiontate Home store in to talk about their new Anne Sloan chalk Paint. Thanks Elinor and Carrie! This past Friday the gals were able to bring in some of their design dillemas for us to take a look at. It’s been lots of fun sharing this passion of mine and seeing them super excited to get going on some projects that they never saw in their homes till now. One of the husbands sercretly blames me for his Wife coming home with new ideas for their home. I take full responsibility for creating passion in the lives of these women coming and learning from me.
3. Darryl and I have been busy with some product shoots for some up coming winter/Christmas product hitting shelves soon. I’ll keep you posted on that for now. Our studio downstairs looks like it was shaken, or actually our whole house looks like that right now. Such is life right now.
Life is really keeping us busy right now this time of year and it looks like no sign of stoppping. Design, photos, kids activities and so much more. I’m trying to get sleep in too and the occasionaly work out as well. You know that balance stuff that we all need to work on? How do you make it through your busy weeks?
Till next time.
