Anne Sloan Chalk Paint!

You are here: Home / DIY / Anne Sloan Chalk Paint!

September 29, 2011 By Jodi

Yesterday I shared our experience from our little outing to the Fieldstone Vintage market.   I was highly impressed by all the vendors, but one tent really caught my eye.

The Passionate Home | Carrie on Left, Elinor on Right.

I have heard lots of great things about The Passionate Home (Business owner Carrie). Carrie and Elinor  Shared their love for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint with me and I drooled over all the selections of colours.

This is just one of the pieces that they have painted with this one of a kind paint!

This product is very new to B.C, in fact she told me that their store is the only one carrying it in B.C at the moment!  How amazing for them!

This is some info I got off Carrie’s site!

We are so excited to be the first Mini-Stockist in BC of ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT!

Let me say, once you try this amazing paint, there is no stopping you…why you ask??  Well, let me highlight just a few good reasons:

1. It is the BEST paint for painting furniture by a long way

2. No need to PRIME & SAND

3. You can use the paint by diluting it with water to make a wash to show the wood grain

4. You can use it as an impasto (thickly) – leave the lid off to thicken

5. You can use it on any surface, indoors and outdoors

6. The colours are mixed intelligently and the web site shows how you can adapt your colours for your use

7. It is a girls’ paint, but boys can use it too.

8. It is flexible so you can be creative and change you mind

9. The paint can be washed off your brush even when you find your brush weeks later. [I never do that of course.]

10. It allows your walls to breathe so it is perfect for cottage walls

11. Extremely low VOCs so it is good for the environment

12. It doesn’t form a skin on it when you leave the lid off – just add some water if it’s too thick

13. Very little black is used in their manufacture so the colours are mixed with thought

14. You can paint it on walls for a soft matt effect or wax it for a polished plaster effect

So I would advise you if you are in the market for some really amazing paint with a different twist, I suggest that you give Carrie  a visit at her store and inquire about it.  They can afterall tell you more about it, as they really are the experts in refinshing old peices of furniture!

I know for one thing, that I will be trying out that paint at one point!

Have you tried it yet? Do you have any projects that you would like to share?

Have a great day!

This paint is brilliant.  I love the finish on the items Carrie painted for her store.  I can’t wait to get my hands on it next week.
