Wow, can you believe that January has already come and gone? Before you know it, we will all be working in our gardens and yards in preparation for the lovely summer months. Ahhhh… back to reality I guess.
I have felt so inspired with what some of you have been doing and some of the wonderful blogs I have been taking a peak at. I on the other hand have been so very busy with some other design projects, that I haven’t had really any time to show you what I am up to here. So sorry about that.
This is one of the projects that I have been working on for the last few weeks on and off. This is a friends office which was in desperate need of help. This couple decided to join offices together, so they needed a plan to go about it. You can see by the photo why they did a plea for help.
As you can see Again this office is in need of some LOVE and organization. Joining two offices into one can be difficult if you don’t have a plan. There was lots to do, but before anything could move ahead, we needed to remove some of the items in this space. This couple has been working around the clock to meet some of their home goals right now and I applaud them!
Sorry about the blurring pictures. I did them with out my handy-dandy photographer, nor did I have enough light. My client/friend was definitely ready for action on this space, but need some guidance to get there for where she needed the space to go. My design philosophy is always a feeling of what I need the space to provide for me or any future clients. If it doesn’t give off the feeling that I was longing for, then I haven’t done my job correctly.
Did I mention that my friend needed to do this on a $50 budget? This was a tough one considering where it started, but my friend stepped up to plate of challenge and so far the space is looking amazing. The room is not quite finished, as they still want to have the crown molding installed, and some other pieces to go on the walls. I promise I will show you the reveal when it is all finished. The feeling in the space is 60% there and I’m confident that it will go to 100% when it is all said and done.
The color on the walls in this office truly does not work with the existing furniture, so it was a chance to make a bolder statement in this space. The rough color I chose for the space is similar to this photo. The color is a dark, greyish blue that represents maturity, richness and elegance. The color turned out wonderfully, and my client seems to be very happy with it.
I have to say I’m digging the “dark study” kind of office. I favor the light and bright atmosphere’s so often but I find some of my tastes are changing depending on my moods. Here’s some more great examples of some amazing offices.
This is cool, modern and uncluttered. Just the way I likey…
I love the charcoal on the walls.
Oh so glamorous…. the ceiling reminds me of my bedroom growing up in. If only I knew then what I know now, my bedroom could have rocked!!
Such elegant space with a really beautiful images and frames on the walls. Not to mention a really good movie.
I love the pop of orange in this space, but it doesn’t over power the space.
So there are some home offices to inspire you, help you to work better for your self, or in your home business. I promise to show you the after photos of the space when it is all done.
Happy Wed. to you all
