The Art In My Cart.

I’ve been browsing on and off Etsy for little while, shops, and other decor places for just the right art to complement some the paintings that my daughter has made for me, and this combo will be in an art gallery as a part of  my kitchen re-design.  If you’re looking for affordable, but hand-made art and you’re not sure where to start, then Etsy is a truly a fantastic place to start browsing around.  Even if you’re unsure of what you are looking for, you will soon then figure out what you like and what you don’t like really fast.  It’s the first place to start!

By the way, your kids art work is such a great way to allow a part of themselves and their little personalities  to be infused into your home.  If you are a parent of a grade school student then you know that kids bring a lot of art work home and I find it to be a little tricky working around it so that my kids can feel proud of the work that is displayed, but still work well with the rest of our interiors. A well matted and framed piece of art can be transformed by simply and matting it and framing it and you’re done!

I’m dealing with a blank state right now which is so refreshing, and pairing the white walls with colourful pieces of art will be a great way to infuse colour, but still keep that calm, and classic relaxing feel I’m after. It’s just like entering an art gallery, the walls are kept very plain and classic so that the art can show its true beauty.

I was immediately struck by this very local female artist Brazen Art Studio (a near 4 hours away from me). I’ll let her simple, yet very talented work speak for itself.  I won’t even try to act like I’m an expert on art, but I do know the  exact pieces that I am looking for and this bottom tulip picture has really caught my eye.  What do you think?

I’m looking for mostly abstract type paintings mixed with a little bit in between. I can’t wait for it to all take shape in the next few months.  My  7-year-old daughter the art guru has given me the green light on all that I have chosen!  I’m glad I can move ahead, right?

What are your favorite types of art?

Jodi

I just love water color artwork. It’s kind of dream like ….. I adore the paper with all it’s texture. I especially like how all you need is water, a little bit of paint and a paint brush.
